LA CRUZ SERENA (THE SERENE CROSS)
Gallery: Canon and Stigma · Reinterpreted Renaissance and Classicism · Curated by Adrian Thomas
Canon, marble and skin: a minimal cross as destiny.
-
DESCRIPTION:
The Serene Cross is a portrait of balance: marble architecture, window light, and a real body treated as an eternal form. The scene doesn't provoke by excess, but by exactitude. Everything is composed to maintain a solemn stillness: proportion, breath, and presence.
The translucent veil does not cover: it accompanies. It is a classic gesture that does not seek to hide, but to direct the gaze towards the harmony of the whole. In the center of the chest, the stigma—a minimal cross—introduces the contemporary tension that defines this room: the canon as law, and the mark as interruption. There is no explicit dramatism; there is a silent faith in form.
This work belongs to the Canon and Stigma wing, where Santograil reinterprets classicism with contained modernity: beauty that does not scream, but is not forgotten.

Recommended Exhibition Guide
SANTOGrail Media recommends this artwork for exhibition formats up to 60 × 80 cm, with professional printing on fine art paper or artistic canvas.
As a curatorial criterion, we suggest:
- professional quality fine art paper or artistic canvas
- pigment inks
- understated frames in matte black, natural wood, or off-white
- LED lighting, no direct sunlight
- a presentation where the artwork can visually breathe
For artworks printed on paper, framing with acrylic or UV-protected glass is suggested, with adequate separation between the artwork and the protective surface.
The final appreciation will depend on the medium, the printing lab, the lighting, and the exhibition space.
