THE MIRROR OF TIME
Gallery: Dream and Narrative · Surrealism · Curated by Adrian Thomas
A threshold-body: desire crosses the mirror and time learns to melt.
-
DESCRIPTION:
The Mirror of Time opens a landscape where reality becomes flexible matter. Sand does not hold: it floats. The horizon melts into impossible shapes, and time —represented as a liquid body— moves through the scene as if it were a living substance.
At the center, a veiled figure becomes a threshold: a sensual, elegant, deliberate presence. It does not appear to “pose”, but to activate the reading: desire as a portal, the gaze as a rupture, the body as a key.
The gilded frame functions as a mirror and a border. Within it, the world calmly decomposes: soft watches, dripping surfaces, objects hinting at memory and obsession. Everything happens in silence, with the impeccable logic of the dreamlike.
This work belongs to the Dream and Narrative wing, where Santograil transforms the body into narrative and beauty into a form of unease.

Recommended Exhibition Guide
SANTOGrail recommends this work for exhibition formats up to 60 × 80 cm, with professional printing on fine art paper or artistic canvas.
As a curatorial criterion, we suggest:
- professional quality fine art paper or artistic canvas
- pigment inks
- simple frames in matte black, natural wood, or off-white
- LED lighting, no direct sunlight
- a presentation where the artwork can visually breathe
For works printed on paper, framing with acrylic or UV-protective glass and adequate separation between the artwork and the protective surface is suggested.
The final appreciation will depend on the support, the lab, the lighting, and the exhibition space.
