TO THE MOON ON A BICYCLE

Gallery: Dream & Narrative · Oneiric Neosurrealism · Author: Adrian Thomas

We do not belong to the earth. We are navigators of a mental geography.

Description:

In To the Moon on a Bicycle, the maison explores the transit of the spirit through corporeal beauty. The decision to keep the figure barefoot on the pedals is a fundamental poetic rawness: bare skin against metal in the midst of infinity, reinforcing the vulnerability and authenticity of the journey. Her anatomy does not surrender to the immensity of the cosmos; on the contrary, the zenithal light of the moon and the turning of the galaxy seem to orbit her progress.

The iridescent dress acts as a color disruptor. It divides the darkness of deep space into shades of mother-of-pearl, violet, and sky blue, emulating the subtle layer that separates wakefulness from deep sleep. The trajectory marked by the light on the lower clouds provides the composition with a vertical perspective that pushes the artwork toward the viewer, forcing them to become the final destination of that fixed and determined gaze. It is a visual narrative about autonomy and the pursuit of the unattainable.

Recommended Exhibition Guide

SANTOGrail recommends this artwork for exhibition formats up to 60 × 80 cm, with professional printing on fine art paper or artistic canvas.

As a curatorial criterion, we suggest:

  • professional quality fine art paper or artistic canvas
  • pigmented inks
  • simple frames in matte black, natural wood, or off-white
  • LED lighting, no direct sunlight
  • a presentation where the artwork can visually breathe

For artworks printed on paper, framing with acrylic or UV-protected glass is suggested, with adequate separation between the artwork and the protective surface.

The final appreciation will depend on the medium, the lab, the lighting, and the exhibition space.
